Stromness writer Aidan Semmens is to give a public reading in Stromness Kirk on the evening of Tuesday 23rd January 2024, of some of the work that has brought acclaim for each of his six books of poetry.

A former winner of the Cambridge University Chancellor’s Medal for Poetry, he has been described by Simon Smith, former chief librarian at the National Poetry Library in London, as “one of our most ambitious and accomplished poets”.

The event, under the title “Different Voices”, will also feature “guest” slots for fellow local poets Biljana Scott, Huw Gwynn-Jones and Piers Cain.
