Artwork by Molly Tulloch from Papdale Primary School

Also opening on Saturday 16 February is Peedie Pier – Primary and Junior Secondary School Artwork. The exhibition includes work made by some of Orkney’s youngest artists from primary and junior secondary schools throughout the county who are encouraged in their art-making by the specialist art teachers who bring their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to Orkney’s schools. Selected by the art teachers, the work on display reflects the wide range of materials, skills and subject matter the children are encouraged to engage with during the school year.

Alongside Peedie Pier will be a display of photography by secondary school pupils from Stromness Academy and Kirkwall Grammar School. This display showcases the work undertaken by senior pupils as part of their Higher Photography Qualifications.

DELINEATIONS – Orkney’s Art Graduates 2017 & 2018 is on display 16 February-23 March and Peedie Pier – Primary and Junior Secondary School Artwork can be seen at the Pier Arts Centre from 16 February-2 March.

The Pier Arts Centre is open Tuesday-Saturday 10.30am-5.00pm. Admission is free.
