Suicide among young men is a major issue in the UK today. 'Connect' is an ambitious attempt to confront the issue in a heartfelt drama.

This screening includes a Q&A after the film with its writer/director, Marilyn Edmond, who will be in Orkney as part of a Scottish tour promoting her directorial debut.

'Connect' focuses on Brian, a young man battling with his mental health. Outwardly, he keeps calm, goes to work and carries on. He never feels that it's possible to share his feelings, until care home owner Jeff becomes a source of support. A flirtation with single mother Sam could be a reason to choose life.

Moments of optimism clash with dark despair in this strikingly filmed Scottish drama shot in North Berwick and starring Kevin Guthrie, Siobhan Reilly, Stephen McCole and Sarah Vickers.
