Cross the causeway to the Brough of Birsay and discover the secrets of this special tidal island.

The Brough of Birsay sits off the northwestern tip of the Orkney mainland and is full of archaeology, with structures dating from the late Neolithic to the 17th Century, including the remains of a Pictish society and an early Norse settlement.

Join Historic Environment Scotland's Ranger service for a tour of the island's archaeology through the ages. The tour will last around one hour and will operate strictly to time due to the fact the Brough is only reachable at low tide. Please arrive 10-15 mins before the tour start time - meet at the beach beside the causeway.

Tickets cost £9 for adults, £7.20 for concessions, £5.40 for children, who must be accompanied by an adult.
