Join bestselling author, Philip Paris, for the launch of his latest book.

'A Fire in their Hearts' tells the extraordinary story of the civil war in Scotland when Covenanters fought kings for the freedom of the Kirk.

It's an epic tale of love, faith, loss and loyalty. It also explores the little-known story of captured Covenanters sent to plantations in Barbados as forced labour.

Philip will host a book launch in the Orkney Library on Monday 1 September at 1830 where he will discuss the historical fiction and the history that inspired it, as well as the novel's close connections to Orkney.

The event is free but space is limited. Tickets are available from the Library. Phone 01856 873166 or email library@orkney.gov.uk

There will also be a book signing at the Orcadian Bookshop on Albert Street in Kirkwall on Monday 8 September between 1000 and 1200.
