What's Open - things to see and do

Find out what's open in Orkney this summer - updated 5/8/20

If you’re heading to Orkney this summer, we know you’ll all be looking forward to exploring our islands.

Things might be a little different here at the moment though, as some sites, services and attractions might not be operating as normal, and some could be closed for the time being.

Take a look at our listings below to find out what is open in Orkney at the moment.

It is a constantly changing situation and we’ll do our best to update this page as quickly as we can. We’d always recommend getting in touch with the attraction, shop, restaurant or service you’re keen to visit before arriving, just to make sure they’re open and welcoming visitors, as some may not be listed here.

Remember, Orkney has some fantastic beaches, scenery, coastal walks and nature, so you'll always find something to do if you're stuck.

Please note that as of 10/7/20, all staffed Historic Environment Scotland sites are currently closed. Skara Brae will be reopened on 28th August.
