VisitOrkney’s live webcams are a popular feature on its website, enjoyed by past and future visitors alike.
One sweeps Broad Street and the Kirk Green in Kirkwall from outside Judith Glue’s shop. Here you can watch Orkney’s busiest thoroughfare as folk go about their daily business. Across the street the camera sweeps the entrance to St Magnus Cathedral. You might spot a wedding party or see a piper on the steps.
There are two webcams at Kirkwall Airport. They update every five minutes so you can watch for planes from Orkney’s North Isles or the bigger aircraft going to and from Scotland’s cities and Shetland. You can keep an eye on the weather and see the control tower. If you know someone travelling you might spot them arriving or departing.
On this page we feature a great webcam at the Kirkwall Hotel, looking out over the harbour area - perfect for checking the movements of the north isles ferries.
