You will receive an on-board commentary comprised of local stories and tales as we pass through the small villages of Finstown and Dounby making our way out to the tour destination of Birsay.

From there you will hop on the E-bikes and unearth Orkney’s iconic history by:

  • Exploring Earls Palace, a 16th century ruin located in Birsay
  • Learn more about Orkney’s involvement in WW1 at Lord Kitchener’s Memorial.
  • Further your knowledge of Orkney’s role in WWII by touring around HMS TERN – a second world war air base – found in the settlement of Twatt

Transport back to Kirkwall by bus will then conclude the tour
