A special exhibition will focus on the excavations at the Ness of Brodgar this summer.

The five-week exhibition, titled 'The Ness: Its People' will run at the Maeshowe Visitor Centre during the dig, from Monday, July 11, until Friday, August 12. It will also run on the excavation open day, Sunday, July 31.

The exhibition will introduce many fascinating objects through pondering the choices made, skills used and creativity displayed by the people at the Ness. It will also shine a light on the modern ‘people of the Ness’, getting to know more about the work of archaeologists and specialists involved in excavating the site.

The Visitor Centre is open on weekdays 9.30am - 1pm, 2pm - 5pm. Last admission is 4.45pm.
