This is a working pottery next to the Old Lighthouse Board Pier on the waterfront of Stromness, with a gallery area looking out to the square at Alfred Street, marked by an outsize rock!  We sell a range of our own tableware in contemporary colours and designs, as well as larger one- off pieces, and mugs illustrated with various Orkney-related themes. We also print our own photographs which are framed locally at S.O.S., and reproduced in card and print form. 

Some Scapa Studios designs are also available at Skara Brae in the Historic Scotland shop ( Grooved Ware Pot and Stone Carving), in Kirkwall at The Longship (Tammie Norrie, Teeok, Skeldro, Whaup, Owls, Mercat Toon, Ba, Blackening and Harbour)  and Judith Glue ( St Magnus Cathedral Doorway and Finstown Duckies), Kirkwall Airport ( Coming Home to Orkney + 4 Farm designs),and at The Fossil Centre in Burray, The Workshop in St Margaret's Hope and at Skaill House.

We can customise your existing pottery with on-glaze or transfer images or text, or work with you to design a completely unique product, whether this be a special gift, or tiles for your kitchen,bathroom or outside wall.(Photographs of previous commissions available).

We are also  the only Scottish stockist of  Marion Brandis who specialises in delicate graphic bird and animal imagery, and have occasional one-off pieces by other guests.

As Tai Chi practitioners and knowing the benefit of alternative therapies, we also stock Empathy Aromatherapy oils, creams and pot-pourri with related ceramic products.
